A faculty member at Ithaca College, Dr. Schillinger leads “Ithaca Bassooniversity” and has collaborated with numerous composers to premiere new works. She has released several solo albums, including Bassoon Unbounded (2018), and authored a highly respected book on bassoon reed-making. Co-sponsored by New York Women Composers and in collaboration with other faculty members, this recital promises an evening of exquisite music and artistry. Free, open to the public. On the music side of life, I am so honored by Amy Wurtz’ mesmerizing performance of my piece *[Always Almost](https://thty8p35tm9d6f9.onstatic.studio/works-catalog/always-almost/)* for Day 12 of her “Women’s History Month” series. In her performance she “inhabits” the music so soulfully to convey the emotional expression of the music and what I was feeling when I wrote this work. (P.S.
