![](https://thty8p35tm9d6f9.onstatic.studio/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/American-Prize-website-logo-300x72.jpg)Whooee, [Conductor, Christopher Kelts](https://www.facebook.com/KeltsConducts/) and I both made it to the semi finals in the “[American Prize ERNST BACON for the Performance of American Music](https://theamericanprize.blogspot.com/2018/01/ernst-bacon-award-semi-finalists-2017-18.html).” We applied with [Missouri State University Symphony’s](https://www.facebook.com/MSUOrchestra/) premiere performance of my orchestral piece, “[Tracing a Dream](https://thty8p35tm9d6f9.onstatic.studio/works-catalog/tracing-a-dream/).”

(I applied as a Composer in the Professional division and Chris Kelts applied in the College/University division.)

Very competitive to get to the finals, but hey hey we’re both on the semi-finalists list.

It’s a bit of recognition and a nice little boost.
